Official Resolution of the NCBEE

All NC occupational licensing boards were evaluated by the Program Evaluation Division (PED). The PED is a non-partisan unit of the Legislative Services Commission of the North Carolina General Assembly. The PED issued a Final Report with recommendations to the Joint Legislative Program Evaluation Oversight Committee (JLPEOC) on December 17, 2014.

The NCBEE was identified as one of 12 licensing boards that required further evaluation to be either eliminated or consolidated with another board. No official report or recommendation was issued by the NCBEE in response to the PED Final Report. At time of press, the NCBEE is aware of 4 boards which have been consolidated or eliminated by the authority of the Joint Legislative Program Evaluation Oversight Committee.

The NCBEE made several attempts to different boards for consolidation to preserve our licensure. These attempts were unsuccessful. Licensure is of upmost importance as described in Case for Licensure.

In an effort to preserve licensure for both electrolysis and laser hair reduction, the NCBEE has submitted the following documents to the JLPEOC:
